Philip N. Parent

Philip N. Parent, 82, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. He had been the loving husband of the late Fern (Cormier) Parent for 38 years. Philip was born on August 20, 1940 in Van Buren Township “Lille,” Maine to the late Edmond and Albertine (Corbin) Parent.

Phil worked as a welder at Pratt & Whitney, retiring after 34 years of service. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Fern and loved to watch his grandson’s baseball games.

Philip is survived by 2 sons, Kevin Parent and his fiancé Veronica Desrosiers of Southington and Corey Parent of Plainville and one grandson, Tyler Parent of Southington. He is also survived by 3 brothers, James, Romeo and Edmond Jr. Parent, 3 sisters, Pauline Levesque, Sonia Lemieux and Alice Melanger and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Fern, he was predeceased by 6 brothers, Harold, Edward, Daniel, Patrick, Leonard and Louis and an infant sister, Edmay.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
