Reba L. (Martin) Politz, 77, of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 19, 2026. She was the best friend and loving wife of Paul A. Politz for 58 years.
Reba was born on November 10, 1948 in Sandusky, Ohio, one of twelve children, to the late James and Bettye Jo (Barnett) Martin.
Reba served her country with pride in the United States Marine Corps. For sixteen years, she worked as a cake decorator at Stop and Shop. Her family will always remember her as a loving wife and mother, cherishing her in their hearts forever.
In addition to her husband Paul, she is survived by two children; Paul A. Politz Jr. and his wife Christina of Gorham, Maine and daughter, Jamie Gambardella of Plantsville. She is also survived by six siblings: Michael “Mickey” Martin, Kathy Scoville, Toni Marino, Mary Martin, Mark Martin and Bettye Jo Mackiewicz and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Reba was predeceased by five siblings: Barbara Rabis, Joanne Hooper, Candy Longo, George Martino and James Martin III.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Reba’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
A graveside service with military honors will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Oak Hill Cemetery, 95 Flanders Rd., Southington. There are no calling hours.
