Rexford C. Forsyth, 86, of Southington, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Born in Bourne, MA on October 13, 1937, only son of the late Rexford and Ellen (Roberts) Forsyth, he had been a longtime Southington resident.
Rex enlisted in the U.S Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He had a strong work ethic and owned and operated All State Cable for many years. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed fishing, especially with his son, Mark.
Rex was predeceased by his first wife of 58 years, Mary A. (Woods) Forsyth and 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Diana (Bates) Forsyth of Southington, 4 children, Karen Therrien and husband David of Wolcott, Keith Forsyth and wife Gail of MO, Mark Forsyth of Southington and Todd Forsyth of CT; 9 grandchildren, Jordan and Devon Thomas, Ashley, Elizabeth and Nicole Forsyth, Kaitlyn Saleutogi and Erin Forsyth and Emily and Sam Forsyth; 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the State Veteran’s Cemetery, 317 Bow Ln, Middletown, CT.
