Robert A. Aldieri, 85, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Midstate Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Masthay) Aldieri for nearly 65 years.
Bob was born on August 4, 1940 in New Haven to the late Joseph “Sisto” and Elvira (DellaCamera) Aldieri.
Bob graduated from Southington High School, Class of 1958 and went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army. He worked as a tool and die maker at Lori Lock in Southington, retiring as a foreman of the pressroom after 40 years of service. Bob was a dedicated volunteer firefighter with Company 3 in Southington for 40 years. He was also a talented woodworker, enjoyed fishing and loved growing vegetables at “the farm”.
In addition to his wife Linda, Bob is survived by two sons, Ted Aldieri of Plantsville and Tim Aldieri and his wife Carolyn of FL and four grandchildren; Tyler, Tori, Zachary and Lexi. He is also survived by two brothers, Raymond Aldieri and his wife Ann of Plantsville and Tony Aldieri and his wife Barbara of FL and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Stephen Aldieri.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Plantsville Congregational United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 109 Church St., Plantsville, CT 06479.
A social celebration hour will be held on Monday, February 16 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Plantsville Congregational United Church of Christ, 109 Church St., Plantsville CT in the fellowship hall, followed by a memorial service with military honors at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
