Robert L. Green, 73, of Southington, CT, died quietly at home on Monday, June 22, 2026. He was born in New Haven on July 2, 1952 to the late Herbert and Mary (Butler) Green. Rob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He also served 32 years on the Meriden Police Department and 10 years as a CT State Marshall, retiring in 2019.
Robert is survived by his wife of nearly 39 years,JoAnn (Spignesi) Green, two sons, David Mann Sr. (Sharon) and Vincent Mann, three grandsons, David Mann Jr., Derek Mann (Alexa) and Lucas Mann and one great-granddaughter, Julie Nieves. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Mallane and Mary Zaborowski. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Herbert Green, grandson, Jacob Robert Mann and granddaughter, Abigail Rose Mann.
Robert was very fortunate to have many cousins, nieces and nephews. He also had the best group of friends from every aspect of his life, including his special friends, George and Nancy Soucie, with whom many happy memories are shared.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 1, 2026at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden. Please meet directly at church.
