Robert B. Keith, 71, of Southington, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He was the devoted husband of the late Colleen D. (Baumberger) Keith for 43 years.
Bob was born on September 23, 1954 in Houlton, Maine to the late Clyde and Anna (McSheffrey) Keith. He graduated from Southington High School and worked at NEAP for many years, eventually retiring from AmeriGas.
Coach Bob, as he was known for many years, was a people person and loved to socialize. He loved country music, the Dallas cowboys and tending to his lawn but his greatest passion in life was being “Pop.” He was his grandkids’ biggest supporter on the sidelines of all of their games, always up for an adventure and was lovingly named a “Passenger Princess” to his #1 girl, Alyx. Bob leaves behind a legacy of love as a husband, father and the best grandfather.
Bob is survived by one daughter, Nicole Keith and husband David Samulenas of Southington and son, Robbie Keith and wife Kara of Conway, SC and 6 grandchildren; Alyx, Ryker and Carter Jennings and Tanner, Colbie and Lainey Keith. He is also survived by one sister, Marjorie Merrill of Houlton, Maine and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Colleen, Bob was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Donald Merrill.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the CT Humane Society (https://cthumane.org/).
