Ruth D. Johnson, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the age of 82.

Ruth worked as a private duty nurse for many years before her retirement and she enjoyed volunteering at the American Red Cross. She was known for her compassionate nature and giving spirit. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Ruth leaves behind her sons, Timothy and wife Connie, Wayne and partner Robin, both of Southington, Albert and wife Marie of Bristol, grandchildren, Taylor and Cameron, her brother, Harold Smith, as well as her inseparable friend and confidant, Steve. She was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Alma Johnson, two sisters and one brother.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington.
