Sandra Mae Drivdahl

Sandra Mae (Narcum) Drivdahl, 79, of Southington, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026 at Hartford Hospital.

Sandi was born on April 21, 1946 in Bristol to the late John and Thelma (Van Gorder) Narcum and graduated from Bristol Eastern High School, Class of 1964.

Sandi found joy in crocheting and knitting, and she became a remarkably gifted blanket maker. Over the years, she created countless pieces — from baby blankets to Harley‑Davidson designs, military logos, Star Wars themes, intricate spider webs, and even a Grateful Dead pattern. If someone had an idea or spotted a pattern they loved, Sandi would have it finished within a week or two. She was always ready for the next challenge, approaching every project with enthusiasm, skill, and heart. She also enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends, going to the Calendar House and shopping with her best friend, Joyce, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was being “Gma Sandi.”

She will be very much missed by two sons, Brian Drivdahl and his wife Paula and Mark Drivdahl and his wife Sandy, both of Southington, four grandchildren; Kasidee Szok (Dominik), Marissa Drivdahl (Benjamin), Megan Drivdahl (Jordan) and James Drivdahl and two cherished great-grandchildren, Ewelina and Onyx. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Narcum and his wife Kathy of Bristol, one nephew, Graham Narcum and his wife Ellen of Burlington and her beloved dog, Dash.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the Plantsville Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 12 noon – 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
