Scott D. Hungerford

Scott D. Hungerford, 62, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away at his home on Friday,  May 23, 2025 after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the loving husband of Deborah (Norton) Hungerford for nearly 41 years.

Scott was born in New Milford, CT on June 27, 1962 to Barbara (Lyon) Hungerford and the late Charles Hungerford. He worked as a meter mechanic at Eversource, retiring after 34 years of dedicated service. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed anything fishing, camping, hunting and boating related. He also loved live music. Scott will be remembered for his amazing ability to stay positive, even during some of life’s toughest challenges. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife Debbie and two daughters, Elizabeth Hungerford and Laura Hungerford, he is also survived by his mother Barbara, brother, Douglas Hungerford and wife Lorraine, sister, Jan McLellan and her husband Greg, and he was the loving “Uncle Buck” to many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. A Celebration of Scott’s Life will immediately follow.
