Sebastian “Henry” Buonocore, 84, of Southington, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. He had been the loving husband of the late Barbara (Lombardi) Buonocore for 27 years.
Henry was born in New Haven on August 10, 1936 to the late Sebastian and Maria (Esposito) Buonocore. He worked for the Department of Transportation, retiring on May 1, 2002 after 16 years of service. He enjoyed NASCAR, UCONN basketball, playing setback and hanging out at Mickey’s AC Social Club. He will be remembered as being loving, kind and caring and for his joking personality.
Henry is survived by three children; Robin Weiss and her husband John, Kathy Buonocore and David Buonocore and his wife Rebecca, all of Southington, daughter-in-law, Linda Buonocore of Bristol; 6 grandchildren: Angela, Ericka and Anthony Buonocore, Tyler Sewell, and Tiffany and Tracy Weiss and 2 great-grandchildren, Bella and Elizabeth. He is also survived by two stepdaughters, Shannon Kruse and her husband David and Cassandra Watlington and her husband Emmanuel, all of AZ; 4 step-grandchildren, Lydia, Cyrus and Colson Kruse and Whitley Watlington and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Barbara, he was predeceased by two sons, Kevin J. Buonocore and Brian Buonocore, a grandson, Brian “Bubba” Buonocore and two brothers, Thomas Buonocore and Cosmo Buonocore.
Calling hours will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Face masks are required at all times.
