Sheryl Marie Lavoie, 72 of Southington, CT passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 surrounded by her family. Born on September 6, 1953, she was the cherished daughter of Avis (Burbank) King and the late Richard King.
Sheryl was a devoted wife to her husband, Darrell Lavoie, and a loving mother to her daughters, Dawn Brinker (Chris) and Nicole Lavoie. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren; Zach, Joe, Caleb, Connor, and Kaden and her many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Sue Rawling and Marjorie Welch (Paul). In addition to her father Richard, she was predeceased by her brother, David King.
Sheryl dedicated much of her life caring for others through her work as a CNA, a role that reflected her compassionate and selfless nature. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel loved, comforted, and cared for. Whether family, friends, patients, or neighbors, Sheryl always put others before herself.
Outside of work, she found happiness in simple pleasures. She had a true green thumb and took pride in caring for her plants. She also loved reading and could often be found enjoying a good book in peaceful moments at home.
Above all else, Sheryl will be remembered for the love she gave so freely. She was the heart of her family: strong, nurturing, and endlessly giving. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support touched everyone who knew her.
