Shirley (Chasse) St. Amant, passed away on April 4, 2026 in Plainville. On the day before her 83rd birthday.
Shirley was born in Waterville, ME to the late Gilbert and Ida (Hebert) Chasse. She worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant at several healthcare companies and worked for many years at Fafner Bearings in New Britain. Shirley also owned and operated her Shirley's Plastercraft in Bristol for many years. She also loved to shop QVC, spend time with family and feed you.
Left to cherish her memory and carry on her loving legacy are her daughter, Michelle Defosse and her fiancé William Stahl, her three granddaughters, Desiree, Monique and Chantelle Defosse, three great – grandchildren, her sister, Linda Sabonis and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Vereneau, who passed in September of 2025, her sister, Diane Pelletier and her two infant children, Laurie and Timothy.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday April 11th, beginning at 11 AM at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd. in Southington. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Following the Mass, Shirley's cremains will be entombed in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Mary's Cemetery in New Britain. Calling hours with her cremains present are Friday, April 10th from 5 to 7 PM at Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St in Plantsville.
