STEPHANIE J. ZABOHONSKI, "Rusty", 68, passed peacefully surrounded by family on January 12, 2016 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was the loving wife of Louis "Lou" Zabohonski Jr. for 39 years.

Stephanie was born on April 21, 1947 in Detroit, MI, one of 6 daughters to Celesta (Listopad) Raczkiewicz and the late Jan Raczkiewicz. She grew up in Detroit with her 5 sisters: Estelle Ransom, Angeline Raczkiewicz, Helene Walther, Celesta Raczkiewicz and Victoria Tuscan.

Stephanie graduated from Wayne State University, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, majoring in health and physical education. Stephanie taught for 9 years before enlisting into the United States Army, serving honorably from 1975 - 1978. On Dec. 28, 1976 she married her husband Lou. They were longtime residents of Connecticut. They moved to Raymond, NH in 1998 where Stephanie began teaching health and physical education again in 1999 at Raymond Middle School.

In addition to her husband Lou and her mother Celesta, she is survived by her three daughters; Susan Zabohonski of Southington; Janet Donovan of New Britain and Margaret Waluk and her husband Joe of Newington. She was predeceased by her daughter Katherine "Katie" Zabohonski who was there to greet her as she started her journey. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Alexander, Zander, Peyton, and Avery who will miss playing Legos with her; 5 sisters and 36 nieces and nephews.

Stephanie's hobbies included quilting, stained-glass window making and volunteering at her local food bank in Raymond, NH.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday January 15th from 4-6pm at The Brewitt Funeral Home - 2 Epping St. Raymond, NH. Teachers are welcome to come directly after work. Military honors will be rendered at 5pm during the visiting hours.
