Stephen T. Cieslewski, 75, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at MidState Medical Center. He had been the loving husband of Arline (Javaloyes) Cieslewski for 49 years.

 

Steve was born in Waterbury on March 9, 1947, to the late Edmond and Edith (Larson) Cieslewski and attended Naugatuck Schools. After earning his bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University, he worked at New Britain Bank. From a young age, Steve loved photography and enjoyed his job at Simonds Photographic in East Hartford. He also worked as a photographer for the Southington Citizen and Observer, retiring in 2015. Steve enjoyed visiting the beaches in Cape Cod and Maine and took many beautiful pictures on these trips.

 

In addition to his wife Arline, he is survived by his brother, John Cieslewski and his wife Jayne of Naugatuck, 2 sisters-in-law, Francine Javaloyes and Dolores Robitaille, both of Plantsville and many nieces and nephews; Lynn Robitaille (Kory Ball) of Renton, WA, Carrie Cieslewski (Matt Tynan) of Thomaston and their children, Emily, Hannah and Jeffrey, Michael Cieslewski (Lauren) of Cheshire and their children, Haylie and Tyler, Maurice Robitaille (Denise) of Somerville, SC and Timothy Robitaille (Sharon) of Buford, GA and their children, Kaitlyn and Tyler.

 

Stephen’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at MidState Medical Center including nurses, nurses aides and doctors, especially Dr. Ferguson, Dr. Malik, Dr. Ahmad, Dr. Ashraf, Dr. Varilla, Dr. Bekelsey, Dr. Patel, Cynthia Kociszewski and Elana Foreman for their compassion and the excellent care they provided.

 

Calling hours will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St, Plantsville. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. For online condolences and directions, please visit www.plantsvilllefuneralhome.com.
