Stephen S. Coull, 64, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, on Thursday August 14, 2014. He was the loving husband of Anna (Varrone) Coull for 39 years.

Born July 4, 1950, in Chicago, IL to the late Andrew and Shirley (Harding) Coull, he had been a longtime Plantsville resident.

Stephen proudly served his country in the USMC during the Vietnam War. He worked for Goodyear before starting his own business as a Home Improvement Contractor, retiring in 2013 after 24 years. Stephen was a volunteer firefighter for 13 years in Company 3 in Plantsville. He was a member of the American Legion Post 72. He loved to work on cars and enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Anna, Stephen is survived by his son Scott Coull and his wife Shifali of Silver Spring, MD, his two brothers, Andrew Glenn Coull of Vero Beach, FL and Ian Coull of Jackson, TN and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Coull.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1075 Chase Pkwy Waterbury, CT 06708.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday August 17, 2014 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held before the service from 5- 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately in the State Veteran's Cemetery, Middletown.
