Virginia “Ginny” (Lofgren) Marotto, 94, passed away on April 5, 2025 in Southington. She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Robert A. Marotto.
She is survived by her children, Kristine Telke and her husband Leland, Lynn Palmieri and her husband Tony, and Robert Marotto Jr. and his wife Barbara, six grandchildren: Katrina Woodward (Mark), Tony Palmieri (Susan), Kaitlin Telke-Lyver (Nathan), Stephen Palmieri, Gabe Marotto, Liam Marotto and ten great-grandchildren: Olivia, Marley, Brady, Madelyn, Harley, Gemma, Charles, Asher, Theo and Carter. In addition to her husband Robert, she was predeceased by her son, Steven Marotto and her sister, June Peterson (Bill).
Virginia was born on June 20, 1930 in Meriden to the late Simon and Maria (Zander) Lofgren, formerly of Buckland St. in Plantsville and she graduated from Lewis High School.
Ginny and Bob were avid tag salers and owned and operated Ginny and Bob's Antiques. Together they developed a special interest in and extraordinary knowledge of Depression Era Glass and became very active members of the Nutmeg Depression Glass Club for which Robert served as president and treasurer. She also enjoyed trips to their cottage on Lake Pocotopaug in East Hampton, UCONN basketball and playing Bingo at the Calendar House.
