Wallace Snow Abramson passed peacefully surrounded by loving family on February 17, 2026.

Wally was born in Pawcatuck, RI on June 11, 1935, the son of late Oscar and Cecelia Mildred (Snow/Areseneau). He was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Seraphin, his sisters, Patricia Black and Marjorie Lappen, as well as two nephews.

There are not enough words to describe Wally’s life well lived.

Wally proudly served in the United States Air Force where he learned many things related to computers and electronics, which ultimately set him on a path to becoming the Director of IT for Stanley Works, where he enjoyed a career of 35 years. During his career at Stanley Works, he developed a computer assembler language.

Wally took great pride in over 24 years of service on various boards for Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union and one of its predecessors, Stanley Works Employees Credit Union.

One of Wally’s passions was golf. He was a member of several golf leagues over the years. He was proudly inducted into the Stanley Works/TGL Golf League Hall of Fame, where he played for 65 years. He took great pride in his older years of still being able to score his age. Wally was a proud mentor of FIRST Robotics Team 1991, The Dragons.

He was the biggest supporter and fan of UConn basketball and enjoyed attending and watching as many games as possible. He attended several Women’s Final Four Championships with his family and saw the UConn Women win it all several times.

Wally had a passion for tinkering and could fix anything or modify it to make it better. He loved fixing cars, whether it was engine repair, transmission repair or body repair, he could do it all. He lovingly restored his 1964 ½ Mustang convertible to pristine condition. Wally saw the future and built an electric car in the 1980s and handcrafted a fiberglass car.

Even with all these passions, Wally’s family always came first. He lovingly cared for Betty during her cancer treatments, always putting her needs first. He was a kind and loving father who loved teaching his daughters and grandchildren about anything and everything. He played the role of grandpa’s taxi service ferrying grandchildren to and from various schools and activities. He was always there for his family.

While travel was not his favorite thing, he would happily go wherever Betty wanted to go and enjoyed many, many trips to Disney World and finally admitted recently that he enjoyed cruising after all.

Wally is survived by two daughters, (Mary) Beth Bunko and Mary Ellen McPhee (Doug), 5 grandchildren, Katherine, Matthew, Jetta, Mabel and Ian and his sister, Beverly Kranz, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Everyone who knew Wally saw his optimistic outlook and happy nature. He will be missed by all whose life he touched.

The family would like to thank the team at Starling Physicians and Hartford Health Care who cared for him as well as Kaylin D. who provided wonderful assistance to Wally and the family.
