William T. Magri, 87, of Southington, CT, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Southington Care Center. He was the loving husband of the late Alecia A. (Lubinski) Magri for 65 years.
William was born on November 20, 1938 in Hartford, CT to the late William and Mary (Foley) Magri. He grew up in New Britain, graduated from New Britain High School, Class of 1955, and continued his studies at the Porter School of Design. Bill worked as a tool designer at Gros-Ite Industries in Farmington, retiring after 45 years of service.
Bill was a longtime member of St. Thomas Church in Southington. He was an avid golfer who found happiness in playing with his friends and his sons. Bill was a talented woodworker who created everything from wooden trains and duck decoys to intricate intarsia pieces. He enjoyed playing pinochle with best friends, Marge and Bill Wisk. Bill and Alecia took many road trips over the years. Some of their favorite spots to visit included Cape Cod, Maine, Lake George, and Myrtle Beach. Bill leaves behind a legacy of faith, family and friendship and will be missed by many.
William is survived by five children: William Magri and Frances Vispone of Fort Myers, Florida, Linda LaFleur and husband William of Plantsville, Robert Magri and wife Jennifer of Seymour, Barbara Bottiglieri and husband John of Southington, and Jennifer Ottalagana and husband Fred of Plantsville, 11 grandchildren: Matthew LaFleur (Jennifer), Samantha Burroughs (Sarah), Thomas Bottiglieri (Lauren), Robert Bottiglieri, Melissa Ventresca (Kenneth), Sean Magri, Katelyn Caponegro (Andrew), Ethan Magri (Christina), Andrew Bottiglieri, Nicholas Ottalagana (Savanna), and Joshua Magri and 7 great-grandchildren: Isabella, Carter, Layla, Parker, Calvin, Chloe and Malcolm, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Alecia, he was predeceased by an infant daughter, Lisa Magri.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St. Plantsville.
