William R. Wisk, (Rhino), 90, of Southington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the HOCC at New Britain. He was the loving husband of Margaret (Shields) Wisk for 71 wonderful years.
William was born on February 28, 1935 in New Britain, CT to the late William and Julia (Leganza) Wisk. He graduated from New Britain High School, Class of 1952 and went on to attend classes at the Hartford Branch of UCONN where he was a member of the ROTC program.
In 1962, Bill established the Eastern Fastener Corporation in New Britain which he owned and operated for nearly 40 years until his retirement. He was a founding member and former President of the New England Fastener Distributors Association (NEFDA). Bill was an avid golfer and a former officer of the Pine Valley Men’s Club. He also enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife and friends, reading, cooking and painting. Bill was heavily involved in his church communities; first at St. Jerome Church in New Britain where he served as a Eucharistic minister, Director of CYO and Parish Council President and then at St. Dominic’s Church in Southington as a Trustee and past President of the Men’s Club. Most importantly, Bill loved his family and will be remembered as a devoted husband, dedicated father and proud Poppi to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Margaret, Bill is survived by four children, Mary Ann Pixton and her husband Phil of Bristol, William R. Wisk Jr. and his wife Jodi of Plainville, Karolin Palko and her husband Bob of Southington and Kathryn Elliott and her husband David of Southington, eight grandchildren, Corey Wisk (Liza), Rachel Wisk, Robert Palko (Erin), James, Sarah and Thomas Palko, Erica Tehan (Kyle) and Kristen Elliott and three great-grandchildren, Stella, Charlie and Jon. He is also survived by his brother, Peter Wisk of New Britain and sister, Patricia Stenberg and her husband Paul of Helendale, CA, and many nieces and nephews. Bill cherished his lifelong friendship with Bill and Alecia Magri and their family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at St. Dominic’s Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
