Robert Arthur Rittner, 69, of Southington, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Southington Care Center.
He was born in New Britain on August 22, 1951 to the late Arthur and Helen (Michaelis) Rittner and had been a longtime Southington resident.
Robert graduated from Southington High School in 1969. He retired from Allstate Insurance Company after 35 years of service. Bob enjoyed nature and watching birds and squirrels play in his yard. He was a longtime member of the Meriden Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America and loved musical theatre.
He is survived by his two sons, Andrew Rittner of Ashford and Philip Rittner of New Britain, three grandchildren, Nicholas Andrew, Ava Charlotte and Amelia Violette, his aunt, Ruth E. Rittner of Southington and his former wife, Heidi Pickett of Southington.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Roaring Brook Nature Center, 70 Gracey Rd, Canton, CT 06019.
